Make a statement.

One of the best ways to make any outfit pop is with a statement piece. Speaking as someone who has a whole lot of basics and a whole lot of neutral colors, having bold accessories is a must. You get more bang for your buck buying a necklace that you can wear with everything in your closet than you would buying one glitzy top. The same goes for you men out there! Jazz up your outfit with a bold tie, or even a bow-tie. It is so easy to make a boring average outfit stand out, so be bold and give it a whirl.

Today I went to a sample sale for this jewelry brand Dannijo. They are best known for their glitzy bibs and beautiful sparklie fun “arm-parties”. Definitely out of the price range for your average college student. Today I was fortunate enough to talk to one of the designers with a question about a certain piece and she was so sweet! This is the necklace I bought. It was only 15 bucks because it is a little broken. I cannot wait to pair it with a vintage tee and some black skinny jeans!Picture 5

Another great designer for statement pieces is Pamela Love. Alsooo on the higher end of anyone’s budget. I did however score two amazing necklaces at her sample sale over the summer as well. Her pieces are a little bit more “tough” than the glitz of Dannijo.

Now lets say you are not loaded (or addicted to shopping like myself) and want one of these statement pieces to add to your collection. H&M had a bunch when I walked around today, but they have this one available online which I think is really cute.

Forever 21 also has a bunchhh of options, most under 15 bucks, which is super reasonable for a piece that will transform your outfits and spruce up your wardrobe. They have a large variety on their website as well as at the stores. These are my top picks from the site

So while dressing for those holiday parties and new years celebrations, remember. It’s not about what you wear, but what you wear with it.
